'Cancer' the six letter word that anyone dreaded to hear. Noah had heard it. It was after Connor was born that his wife, Morgan, was diagnosed with the illness. Six months was what they were given. She didn't make it that long. Two months later she died. Noah had found her in the bedroom. She looked so peaceful and he knew. A few days later he laid her to rest on top of the hill next to an old willow tree. There had only been a few people in attendance. His parents, Morgan's parents, and a few friends. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing to do. He remembered craddling Connor in his arms and praying that he wouldn't be taken away.
It had been a year now. A year since all that hell unfolded. Noah was packing up the last of the boxes. He was taking Connor to Seattle. It was a job offering at Mercy West. Of course, he would also be making trips to Seattle Grace. It was in his contact. "You ready buddy?" he asked and pulled Connor into his arms. "Come on. Let's go."
Seattle. It was a place to start over. He hoped for the best here. Everything was ready for him. A week prior to his arrival here, the moving men had packed up the furniture and brought it to his new place. It was nice. This was a new start for him. Noah finished signing a few documents and decided to take a trip over to the hospitals he would be working at. Seattle Grace and Mercy West. "How may I help you?" the receptionist pulled him from his thoughts. "Yes...I'm here to see Chief Webber." Noah shifted Connor in his arms as the woman paged the Chief. "He's a little behind schedule. You mind waiting?" Noah shook his head and found a place to sit.

Moving back to Seattle had been difficult and it had left Oceanside Wellness in an uproar, but Addison had done the right thing for herself. She hated herself for a long time about how she felt about Noah.He was married and her patients husband. She was wracked with guilt even after Morgan had the baby and they had parted ways. She had let things go too far and she couldn't believe that she had nearly accepted Noah's suggestion that they could be together.
Addison was walking past the Cheif's office and she saw a flash of brown. She assumed that it was either Derek or Mark. When she stopped to look, the hair was not curly and it was not light brown.Addison knew only one other guy with that color hair. She had no idea what he was doing there. Then she saw the baby. She had no idea where Morgan was and she couldn't help her curiousity. Why was he here in Seattle. Why was he at her hospital"Noah?"Addison murmured wonderingly, not even sure if he would hear her.

A familar voice broke through his thoughts. Glancing up he saw Addison. Noah was shocked to see her in Seattle. What was she doing in Seattle? Last time he saw her she was in L.A. and pushing him to go see his wife. "Addison..." he spoke softly and eased himself up from the uncomfortable chair. The sudden movement caused Connor to cry and Noah quickly comforted the distraught one year old. He placed the pacifier in his mouth and the little guy sucked away quickly. "I'm surprised to see you here in Seattle. What happened to L.A.?" he asked. He wondered if something had happened that caused her to escape. Had it been him? He began to wonder what her reasons were for being here. Of course, she was probably wondering the same exact thing.
He eyed her carefully. She looked good. She looked...gorgeous and radiant. Noah always thought those things about her. She was a one of a kind woman. It didn make him feel guilty that he could even think about another woman especially when he was married. That's when he had been married. Now he was a widower. He wasn't even sure he could tell Addison what had happened without completely losing it. Noah hadn't allowed himself to grieve properly. He buried himself in work and taking care of Connor. He couldn't fall apart. Connor needed him. He needed his dad. There was no time to grieve. He had to keep himself afloat.

As horrible as it sounded,Addison couldn't help but look at Noah.He looked good. He was still handsome and he still had a smile that made her knees weak.Addison knew that Noah didn't regret what had gone on between them and Addison didn't either but she definitely still had the guilt. Not so much anymore though.Addison still had no idea what was going on and she hoped that he would tell her. She looked at the baby and was startled to realize that he looked to be about one year old already"I lived here in Seattle before LA.A friend asked me to come treat his daughter and I just couldn't go back to LA."Addison murmured. She couldn't speak in a normal voice. It was like something was preventing that.
She knew that it was finally time to get her questions answered. She hoped that Noah would answer them"What are you doing here? Where's Morgan?"Addison asked. She wasn't sure what she wanted to hear. Maybe they got divorced already.Maybe Morgan was pregnant again and couldn't travel.Addison just didn't know.

Noah nodded, “Well we have something in common then. L.A. is history” he told her. He didn’t want to elaborate on what happened. Morgan’s name was brought up and it caused him to completely shut down. It took him a moment to recover. He tried his hardest to push all those thoughts into the back of his head. His eyes drifted down onto his now sleeping son. A smile played on his lips as he looked up at Addison. “I was offered a job here. Well, I’m over at Mercy West but I will be making rounds here as well. I was recommended by the Chief. I’m surprised by that but I guess he sees potential in me.” Noah chuckled lightly “I’m waiting for him right now but he is in the middle of a million things I presume.”
He wanted to say things to Addison. He wanted to be open to her but he couldn’t. Talking about Morgan was hard to do. He also wanted to talk about their little ‘fling’ they had. Noah didn’t consider it a fling. He had fallen in love with Addison but was yanked away. The timing hadn’t been right. It wouldn’t have been fair to Morgan. They both knew it was for the best and moved on. Now it was a year later and everything was different.

Addison found it strange that he didn't answer her question about Morgan but she chose not to push it. Seeing him again reminded her firstly of the time that he had kissed her in her doorway. Addison had felt so many emotions after that moment. Guilt, shame and even a little bit giggy. She hadn't been kissed like that in a really long time. When he explained what he was doing here Addison had this feeling that she wasn't going to be able to stay away from him. She was like a moth to Noah's flame and she hated herself for that"Well he is the Chieif."Addison commented lamely.
There were a hundred things that she wanted to talk to Noah about. She didn't know if Noah knew that Morgan had come to see her after the baby was born. She had basically asked Addison if she had been in love with Noah and Addison had been stuck and Morgan had been hurt. She really had fallen in love with thr cardiac surgeon"We should talk later."Addison told Noah as she locked her eyes onto his face.

"That he is...one very busy man" he said to her. "Maybe we can talk over coffee later on. My treat." He smiled at her. Noah hadn't smiled all too much since Morgan. He may have been in love with Addison but he still loved his wife. He always had even though he had been completely torn by the two women. It was frustrating to no end. He was upset that he couldn't make his mind up. It was pathetic and wrong. How could he allow himself to fall for another woman? God, he had been a happily married man and now a father. Often he would think that Morgan's cancer was a direct result from his unfaithfulness towards her. The guilt ate him alive and to the point where he wasn't sure what to do anymore. He had considered a few things. These things shouldn't have even crossed his mind but they did.
"Dr. Barnes..." it was the Chief. Noah turned to the Chief and greeted him. "Addison...could you take Connor for me?" he asked.

Addison remembered when they shared coffee in LA.She wasn't sure how she felt about this, but it was good to see him again.Addison nodded and said"That would be good."Addison wasn't sure what she was going to say.Doing what they had nearly done to Morgan had destroyed Addison. She had always sworn that she was going to be different than her father and her brother. Instead she was exactly like them.
When Noah asked her to take Connor,Addison was surprised. She wasn't sure what to say.She had to agree so that Noah could talk to Richard"Of course."Addison agreed as she held out her arms for the baby.Of course looking at the baby didn't make Addison feel much better.

"Thank you" he said to her and handed the sleeping child over to Addison. "He's a heavy sleeper so...you will be okay. If he wakes up and doesn't want his binky then just use your pinky finger. He likes that." He smirked and turned his attention back to Richard. "Step this way, Dr. Barnes" the Chief said and led him off to his office.
The Chief informed Noah of the recent changes. He also informed him of the new cardiothoracic surgeon that was already at Seattle Grace. They both would be working together. Noah agreed and was given his things. Tomorrow he would be starting his first day at the hospital. He shook the Chief's hand and exited the office. "Thanks for watching him, Addison. I hope he wasn't a problem."

Addison sat down in the chair outside of Richard's office and cradled the sleeping child. Connor looked a lot like his dad but he had some small parts of Morgan as well.Addison knew that she would never have an of her own kids but she was considering adopting a baby.Of course that consideration was not public knowledge yet.
When Noah came out of Richard's office,Connor was now sucking on Addison's pinky. Addison was startled how right Noah was. The baby had calmed right down after he refused his pacifier and Addison had offered her pinky to the baby.Addison smiled at Noah and shook her head"Nope. He was no problem at all."Addison assured Noah. She hoped that his meeting had gone well but she didn't want to talk about that. She wasn't sure what to talk about with Noah right now.

He chuckled lightly at the sight and nodded, "Looks like it. Pinky works every time. I think he has taken a liking to you" he said to her. Noah didn't rush taking Connor out of Addison's arms. Honestly, it was a bit of a relief at the moment. It really freed up his arms. "You're quite the natural." Noah crossed his arms over his chest and looked up into her eyes. Her eyes were beautiful. He easily found himself getting lost in them. Addison had this power over him. She was like a siren. She drew him in with her song of seduction.
"So...when are you off?" he asked her curiously. "I promised you coffee." It would be nice to catch up with Addison. Hopefully, she wouldn't ask any questions that centered around Morgan and her disappearence. He wouldn't be able to answer them. He always was able to avoid them. Only a few people knew the real truth. Only a few people knew that he needed to grieve and allow himself to heal. However, he pushed people away easily. He didn't let them in. He couldn't. What if they went away to?

Adidson didn't feel like she was a natural but she figured that she ought to feel like it seeing as she held babies so much during the day.She was glad that Noah seemed to think she was a natural.Wait, when did she give damn what a hot cardiologist said or thought about her? The way he was looking at her was the way that he used to look at her.Addison had no idea why he was looking at her like that again. It was driving her crazy.
When he asked when she was off,Addison smiled. She was actually off now. She had been leaving when she saw Noah waiting for Richard"You did promise me coffee and I never turn that down."Addison pointed out with a soft smile pressed against her lips as she looked at Noah. She had never figured out what was so captivating about him.She still couldn't figured it out a year later.

"Of course and it's obvious you can't turn down such a offer especially from me" he said to her and grinned. "I have to say...I wish you didn't resist me so much back in L.A." There had been a few times where she didn't mind his lips against hers. However, when it came to the end that's when she pulled back. "Well, maybe now that I am here...we can start something interesting." Noah winked at her. Yes, he was flirting with her. There was no harm in it. He wasn't sure if he would act on it though. It had been a year since he had been with a woman. It wouldn't be right to just jump into the sack with someone especially Addison.
"Come on." Noah led her out of the hospital and towards the nearest cafe. It was just down the roadway and in walking distance. He ordered his usual cup of coffee and waited for Addison to do so as well. His eyes wandered her body. God, he wanted to press himself against her backside and nip at that neck. The only thing that kept him from doing so was his guilty mind.

Adidson hadn't resisted him nearly as much as she should have when they were in LA and that was where a lot of her guilt lie. When he kissed any part of her body Addison felt things she was sure that she had never felt in her life. When he spoke the second time,Addison blushed a light pink.Once she recovered, she looked at him and teased"You mean something sexy."Addison wanted him to just throw her against the wall and have his way with her and then she felt guilty for even thinking that.
She followed him to the cafe and she ordered her coffee and then sat across from him.It seemed so easy to slip back into the flirty banter that they had together. And she had definitely felt his eyes on her back when she was ordering her coffee"Were you watching my ass when I ordered my coffee?"Addison asked teasingly.

Something sexy sounded pretty damn good. He wanted so badly to push her up against the wall and ravish her. He wanted to feel that body against his and hear those little whimpers that she would make. She would also shake and he would have to keep her from collasping to the ground every time. Noah missed those secret moments between them. He missed being away from her but had to push that to the side. Morgan had needed him at the time and he would not be selfish. It wouldn't be right.
They found a table and Noah placed the baby carrier next to him while Connor slept soundlessly. He eyed Addison and laughed. "Wow, you didn't miss that did you?" he asked. "You want the honest to god truth? Yes, I was staring at that amazing ass. I wanted to just grab it. It was taunting me." Noah sipped at his coffee. "I would have taken you against the wall and not care if anyone saw what I was doing. I would have done just that, Addison." His foot moved right next to hers as he stared so intensly into her eyes. "A year felt like forever. I wanted to see you. I did. I wanted so badly."
